Call A Cab

Today on one of our local radio stations one of the DJ's was discussing her weekend. She said that she went to the Reds game and then afterward went out for a few drinks with some friends. About midnight her and another girlfriend decided to call it a night and went outside, and being the responsible adults they were, they grabbed a cab. About a 1/4 mile from her house she seen the lights of a cruiser behind them.

They cabbie pulled over and he then proceeded to tell her and her friend that there may be a little problem. When the police officer came to the car the cab driver could not produce his driver's license. Okay, he makes his living from driving a cab...and he doesn't carry his driver's license? He gave the officer his name and other identification and when the officer goes back to run his info, the cabbie gets on his cell phone and calls someone, telling them..."I may need you to come and bail me out."

The DJ, who by this time was thinking a practical joke was being played on her soon realizes it is not a joke when the cabbie tells her that there is a small warrant for him. Small warrant? As opposed to a big one?

When the police officer returns to the cab he arrests the cabbie for driving under suspension! A cab Driver driving under suspension? Don't they check these drivers out. Fortunately for the local DJ, she got a ride home from another police officer and a free cab fare, but it really makes you wonder just how safe are the cab drivers?

Next time your out and need a ride home, it may be better to just call mom to come and get you. Just make sure she has her driver's licence...
