A Biting Issue

I always thought that the men's room was nastier than the ladies room, but after talking with some of my co-workers I am finding out that is not the case. Women are just as dirty and nasty as the men are when it comes to relieving themselves or when using the facilities. One thing I've never found left in the men's room are articles left behind. You know such as wallets, cell phones personal items. Magazines? oh yes plenty of those are left in the bathroom.

Today though in the women's room at work what was left lying on the toilet paper dispenser left for a lot of speculation. At second break at around 11:33 myself and two other female co-workers went outside for our afternoon cigarette before lunch. Following us was one of the other girls in another division. She came running behind us going on and on about needing to take a minute as she was going to lose it. With little prompting she explained her reason for this sudden sense of being over-wrought. Lying there next to her on the toilet paper dispenser she found someones teeth. Yes you heard correctly. Apparently someone was having issues with their false teeth while sitting on the throne and removed them, placing them on the toilet paper dispenser. Why? Who Knows?

She found the owner of the teeth, who had no idea that they had left them in the bathroom. How could you not know your teeth missing?? By the end of lunchtime we got further information that this certain employee had passed out at her desk and someone had taken her home. So apparently she had some other issues going on, but your teeth??

Family Restaurant

Last night after I arrived home from work, DJ called and said he was going to have to close the restaurant as someone had called off work. We had plans and he was upset that he had to break them, so I decided to go down to the restaurant and sit at the bar until he got off and just spend some time together.

Now he works for a large chain restaurant, a family place actually, but a little more upscale that Wendy's. They have a great bar and great bartenders at this location. So I sat there being entertained by some patrons down the bar from me. They were all three obviously intoxicated and the bartender seemed to know them, even though this was her fourth day. As I dipped into their conversation I learnt that the young good looking guy the young woman had came in with was a guy she had just met a few minutes earlier at another bar. He was a co-worker of her sisters and wanted them to meet. They decided to come to this bar to get away from the noise and talk. The third guy I found out was the young girls most recent boyfriend. They had apparently broken up over the Christmas holidays. I listened and snickered under my breath at the obvious displeasure the younger guy was having, and the obvious jealousy the old boyfriend was having, and the obvious pleasure the young girl was having as it seemed she had planned this whole meeting the old boyfriend thing on purpose.

After about a half an hour the young boy leaves to go outside to have a cigarette (yes the smoking ban passed in January, but that is another story) Once he removed himself, the girl then dismissed herself saying to her ex, "I've got to piss this beer out" Loud enough that the family sitting on the other side of the bar, having a nice late dinner heard her. Within about 30 seconds the ex gets up and also heads to the area where the bathrooms are. They don't come back for quite sometime. The young boy comes back from his cigarette break and asks the bartender where his party had went. She told him. He proceeds to the men's room and returns and tells the bartender that the guy that had been sitting with them was not there. Of course the bartender thinks she he has walked out on his tab and gets the manager.

Meanwhile a female employee comes from the area of the bathroom and states to the manager in a very loud voice, again the family turns to hear the commotion, "There is a couple in the ladies room having sex!"

A true Family Restaurant. Gives a whole new meaning to "Let's eat here!"

Could You Take Care of That?

Ever had one of those embarrassing situations? You know the kind I'm talking about. Leaving your fly open and someone pointing it out to you. Having on socks that are two different colors, and again someone points it out to you. Or maybe you bent over and your pants ripped open from the crotch to the ass...and you were going commando...

Well nothing like that happened to me today, but there was a certain person in our office that I just wish someone would have had the ability to tell them. I mean it was so apparent. I am sure I was NOT the only one in the office that saw it. I mean it was right there, out in the open ALL day. I wasn't going to tell them, that is for sure. I mean I'm the new guy, why should it be me?

What was it you ask?

You sure you want to know?

Okay, here it goes...

Hanging from the right nostril, just barely hanging on, was...

yes you know...

A dried booger.

Just hanging there. Right in the nostril but yet clinging and hanging low enough that it was apparent to everyone. I went to my desk wishing someone would just take them a tissue. Or maybe just put an entire box on their desk. Or maybe someone could have just reached up there and...

Oh no that would be TOO GROSS

So for the entire day, this co-worker walked around work with a booger just hanging there. Surely they knew. Well if not imagine their embarrassment when they got home and their significant other says...

Honey would you take care of that. How long has that been hanging there, all day?

Gender, Race and Politics

Hats are being thrown in from the left and from the right for the Presidential Elections next year. Earlier this week, Illinois Senator Barack Obama announced his run for President. Senator Obama, who was unknown until the 2004 Democratic Primary has risen to the top of the political list.

Today, Senator and Former First Lady, Hillary Rodham Clinton announced that she will be running for her husband's former job in the White House. Clinton, the Democratic front-runner is a strong and powerful influence in the Senate, but does she have what it takes to become the first female elected as the country's highest office holder?

As both Obama and Clinton begin their push for the White House, another name has been rumoured to be throwing his hat into the race, Governor Bill Richardson announced in December 2006 that he will formally file paperwork to launch his Presidential campaign in January 2007, which will probably be officially announced next week.

Sen. John Edwards, the 2004 Democratic Vice Presidential running mate with John Kerry announced earlier this year that he too will run for President in 2008.

Edwards and Obama are my favorites, thus far, but there is a long way to go. Whatever happens between now and November 2008, it looks like it is going to be not only an exciting Presidential race, but historical as well.

Hi, It's Matt

Matt Dillon...

Those are the words I heard today when I arrived at work. Albeit it was on a co-workers voice mail and not my own.

The co-worker, we will call her Captain Morgan, has a somewhat personal relationship with the said star. Not that she slept with him (yet) or anything but do to a mutual friend, Captain Morgan and Matt became friends.

His call was for a professional reason, but for me it was the highlight of my day. Now for those pictures. I know she has some.

Finally Growing Up

Yesterday marked my 1 month with my new employer and things are going well. Once each week the attorney chooses two employees to leave early due to their outstanding work production. After only one month, I was chosen! So I'd say I'm doing okay.

Last week seemed pretty long, after working two four day weeks due to the holidays, this past week was the first full five day week in sometime. Not that I am complaining, as I am not, but it seems as though I do nothing but work, come home and do it all again. But isn't that what life is all about? I did get to visit with Veruca on Tuesday evening. He bought his own place, which just happens to be right down the road from my office. Tuesday we met there and he fixed dinner. The place is really nice, a bit small, but for one person it is perfect. It has a great balcony that overlooks the entire downtown Cincinnati area. Quite a view. We had a nice quiet evening together catching up and enjoying one anothers company. We have been friends for so long now, over 12 years, it's good to see that he has done well for himself. Even though our lives are very different from one another now, it's good to know he is still part of my life.

I also made another step into adulthood this past week. I know at 46 you'd think I'd be completely grown by now, but I have always said "I refuse to grow up!", but this week I opened my very own checking account! First time since I was married that I've had a checking account. It feels weird actually. Going to the bank and making deposits and writing checks. It seems as though I'm all grown up now, don't you think?

On the Road Again

It has been unseasonably warm here since the new year began. Yesterday we actually broke a record for warmest temp in January. It just does not seem right to not be wearing a coat in January, at least a jacket, but there has not been a reason for it this week.

Yesterday was my third week at my new job, and have I told you how much I love my new job?! Yes I love working there. There is only one thing I do not like about the job. The drive.

Anyway, my third week and we had a staff meeting at the Vernon Manor yesterday morning at 8:00 a.m. So I left home a little early and headed out for my Friday. Unbeknown to me, as I was listening to Fergie's new CD instead of the radio to get the traffic reports, there was a tractor-trailer jack-knifed on the expressway. So about 15 minutes into my morning road trip I was sitting at a standstill on the highway. I sat there for 30 minutes, not even moving. As we s l o w l y moved I finally got past the worst of the traffic. Nothing I saw on the road was worthy of me sitting in stopped traffic. I think if I am sitting in stopped traffic I should have at least seen a white sheet on the road somewhere. But nothing. I walked into the meeting already in progress with the firms owner standing at the podium, facing the door. As I sheepishly walked in (15 minutes late) he seemed to leer at me. Fortunate for me, two attorneys and three other staff came in after I did, so the impact of the "new guy" being late was hopefully lost on the fact that his attorneys were also late. They are supposed to be role models. I did talk to the owner afterward and explained the reason for my tardiness. He said he already heard that some were stuck in traffic due to the accident. I was saved. This time anyway.

A New Year, A New Obsession

Thanks to DJ's sister and brother-in-law I have been engrossed in fulfilling quests, advancing life levels, killing kobolds and traveling to far lands in search of gold and riches. No I'm not crazy, well if sitting at the computer every free moment playing War of Worldcraft is crazy, then maybe I am.

They have played this game for sometime and have talked to us about before, how much fun it is and how addictive it became. So finally with our Christmas money (instead of paying bills off) we purchased the five DVD set and downloaded the game. For those of you that have read my blog, you know what a fan of the SIMS I am. Well SIMS has met it's match. I have become a WOW addict and my young Paladin is waging war against the Horde at what I think is a successful rate. But what do I know I'm just a newbie.

So if you notice that I am posting less and less, just look for me in Stormwind City or Goldshire, My name is Tsanis and I am sure you will find me there somewhere!
