We're Back!

Yes, we are back. You are probably saying... you were gone?? But yes DJ and I were vacationing the past week. And no we do not have any boring vacation pictures to share with you, and no annoying stories to bore you with...well maybe a few.
We travelled first to Louisville, Ky. for a wedding of a co-worker and went a day early to take in the gay clubs in Louisville. We had not been there ina while, and we had not actually been out to a club in some time. I think we had fun, well at least from what DJ told me, most of the latter part of Friday night is a blur to me.

After the wedding reception on Saturday we stayed in Louisville for a few more days of rest and relaxation. Nothing big, and nothing expensive, just hanging out and eating good food and enjoying one another's company.

We returned back home the later part of the week and have been sitting at the computer almost 24 hours a day playing World of Warcraft! We are so boring aren't we? But we both enjoy it and it is something we can do together and not spend any $$!

But the party is over and it's back to work on Monday (today for DJ). So as we end the month of May and end our weeks vacation all I can say is...

I am certainly ready for summer. How 'bout you?

Pending Vacations

With my vacation right around the corner, DJ and I have been looking for a new tent. Yes, we are going camping again this year for vacation. It is something we both enjoy, and it is so relaxing to get away from the hustle and bustle of work, traffic, family and cell phones. We are set to head out into the great wilderness in less than 14 days.

Speaking of vacations, my best friend Silver and his son are on the last day of their Disney extravaganza vacation and will be home tomorrow. They had a Cruise and Disneyland. Now that for me would be fun, but I don't see where I would be able to relax. Silver and his son love it, I think this is like their third year.

Next year I would like to take a trip to D.C. DJ is like, "No thanks" but I would love to visit the White House, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial and most of all the Smithsonian. I'm sure we could find something there he would like. Isn't the Star Trek Museum in Washington D. C. ???

Are Your Neighbors Raccoons & Skunks?

For me there is nothing quite as relaxing than, late at night sitting around an open fire. For the last three nights DJ and I did just that. Sat at an open fire, talking, listening to music or just taking in the night sounds.

The camping trip was wonderful. Too bad it had to end and we had to return back to the real world. The first day upon arrival at the campgrounds it was HOT. Close to 98 degrees. We set up camp and then took a little walk. When we returned we had neighbors that moved into the campsite next to us. Two young couples. Both the guys were quite good looking (sorry no pictures, that would have been obvious!) and all four were quite nice. We took over some wood to them later that evening as they had run out. We also had other neighbors...Raccoons and skunks. Yes, they came right up into our camping area. Luckily we had placed all of our food items back in our automobile, so they didn't stay around long without any food to suffice their curiosity. But they came back each night looking for more.

The second night was a bit more uncomfortable, as after we decided to go to bed, it decided to storm. A real nice thunderstorm! With lots of rain, lightening and thunder. Making woo hoo in a thunderstorm is quite nice, but I would have preferred it to have remained dry during our camping excursion. We had some water in the tent, but nothing really bad. Of course our neighbors decided the next morning to leave, and they were nice enough to repay us for the wood we gave them the night before. But when they returned the wood, they said to DJ...

"we wanted to return the favor your DAD gave us some wood the other night..."

YOUR DAD!? Not quite. I know there are twenty years between DJ and I, but Dad? But DJ thought it was funny. I didn't.

The next night it was much dryer and much cooler, I had hoped we had that weather the entire time, but at least one night was perfect camping weather.

We returned home today, tired but relaxed. Back to the real world and the reality of having to find a job. Today we went to my daughter's baby shower, and visited with family. It was a good three days, but as always it good to be back home.

Gone Fishing!

I'm not really going fishing, I've done my fishing for this decade, but we are going on vacation.

Vacation, you ask? When your not even employed?

Why of course, just because we have no income coming in and we don't know how we are going to pay our bills doesn't mean we can not enjoy a vacation, right?
We are not going far, just over to Indiana to do some camping. No phones, no computers, no air condition, and most important...No people. Well other campers I'm sure, but you know what I mean. Going away so that we can not think about our dilemma.

Hey I have a grip on reality, I just choose not to face it this week. I'm on vacation!

Making Plans

Still no luck on the job front so I am stuck here in this mental ward until I can find something else. This week so far has not been too bad, but then this is our busiest time of the month, so we don't have a lot of time for their drama. I always thought I was somewhat of a drama queen, but now that I'm getting older, the less drama the better.

DJ and I are planning a weekend away for the Memorial Day weekend, but with the gas prices so high it will be somewhere close. Maybe Indianapolis or Louisville. I just need to get away from "reality" for a few days, and I think he is ready for a vacation as well.

Time Has Made Changes

August 2025? How can this even be reality!? Five years since the last post and over 21 years since I started this blog!, let me tell you ...
